This XL 14" Diameter bowl is an Early 1970's Tiffany Peretti Production with a great provenance!

This bowl was acquired from NY dealer David Stypman who was a neighbor of both  Elsa Peretti and ballet dancer John Butler in an apartment building on East 55th Street in New York City.

Please note: No Tiffany Blue Box.

John Butler died in 1993 and his property was sold and Mr Stypman acquired the bowl directly from the estate.

The bowl of dish is the rare X-Large size thumbprint 14" Diameter in Cobalt Murano Glass.

The piece was a gift from Elsa Peretti to her 55th Street Apartment neighbor and friend, NY City Ballet John Butler.

According to David Stypman who knew both Peretti and Butler, this bowl is from Peretti's first production, early 1970's, of Murano glass Peretti design for Tiffany & Co.

John Butler (1918-1993) was a dancer and choreographer who combined both classical and modern dance styles in his work. After a brief period leading his own dance company, Butler became a successful freelance choreographer on television and for dance companies around the world.
Studied with George Balanchine and Martha Graham. He had his own dance company and worked freelance later in his life.
