Vintage Sheaffer Targa 1032 Laque Tortoise Shell Fountain Pen,GT, M 14K Nib, Box
This is one of the high end classic full size models in the popular and functional Targa range. This model was introduced in 1981 and discontinued in 1991 and is now very collectable. This is a Tortoise Shell Laquer finish with 23K gold electroplated trim. The finish is hand lacquered 14 times and polished by hand. It has a medium 14K gold inlaid nib and working filler. Super condition for its age.!!
Condition report:
Near mint cosmetic condition. Rare Tortoise Shell lacquer finish in super condition for its age. The body and cap are unmarked with no scuffs or scratches other than a few very light handling marks (see photos). This is the classic full size version of the pen. Clean crisp White dot on the clip. Stamped "Sheaffer " on the cap top ornament. Clip is a nice firm fit and properly aligned. It has a medium 14K inlaid gold nib in perfect condition. Uses either cartridges or the press bar filler which is fitted and looks to be unused. Dip tested and writes really nicely (see photo of writing sample). Sheaffer box in perfect condition.
This is a particularly fine example in excellent condition of a very collectable and usable pen.
