Prison inmate self portrait bust to scale. Constructed with pottery, paint, resin, and glaze - mounted to a black ash wood base.

This piece along with an envelope dated 1994 came from the family of a former prison guards estate who worked in a New York State Prison System all his life and collected this type of prison folk art.

Very solid heavy piece, well done to scale, intense detail, the eyes look to be real.
