"A Journey to Central Africa; or, Life and Landscapes from Egypt to the Negro Kingdoms of the White Nile" is a 522 page (plus 4 plates), 5.25"x7.5" hardcover written by Bayard Taylor and published in 1854 (though this is a later edition, the tenth) by G. P. Putnam & Co. (New York).
The book is in good condition. The gilt decorated blue cloth boards show small tears at the spine ends, mild fading to the gilt, light rubbing and soiling. The spine is cocked. There are ownership and other small marks to the front pastedown and ffep, an old price on the back pastedown. The Interior is age-toned with foxing (sometimes heavy) throughout. The folded map is missing.
