St. Burchard's Abbey was a Benedictine monastery in Würzburg, Germany, initially known as St. Andrew's Abbey. It was the first abbey established in Würzburg, founded ca. 750. St. Andrew's was founded by Bishop Burchard of Würzburg (742-53) on the left bank of the Main at the foot of the Marienberg shorty after 748. It was initially dedicated to Andrew the Apostle, Mary and Magnus. In 1495, a late-Gothic high altar was added. Due to the possession of significant forest properties, the abbey had sufficient income throughout its history.
Adam Friedrich Graf von Seinsheim (1708-1779) was the Prince-Bishop of Würzburg from 1755 to 1779 and Prince-Bishop from 1757 to 1779. He became a canon of the Bamberg Cathedral and Würzburg Cathedral in 1718. He studied Christian theology at the University of Salzburg (master's degree 1724). The cathedral chapter of Würzburg Cathedral unanimously elected him Prince-Bishop of Würzburg in January 1755, with Pope Benedict XIV confirming his appointment.

A complete two-volume set for 1776 (the third volume of this set would not have come out until 1799). Full leather binding.
