This is the SWEETEST old handmade black mohair dog! Check out all the pics. I think he was made by the Amish out of an old used coat because of his eyes and other features being sewn and no buttons anywhere and his very particular primitive chunky form. He is originally from the Amish area of Holmes County in Ohio. He measures about 9 inches long and is about 6 inches tall. He is very clean but as you can see he does have wear on his fur from many years of being played with along the way or maybe he was a coat or old buggy blanket before he was made into a dog as you see him now. He has a simple antique blue calico collar that makes him even better. He's a bit floppy and doesn't stand on his own as his legs make him sprawl out as you see but he's just the best old guy ever.  When you hold him in your hands you think of old days gone by and the joy some children had playing with him over the many years since he was lovingly made. Perhaps he was a special holiday toy or birthday gift from a farm mama who wanted to make him for her kids since back in the day store bought toys were a luxury to many country families like the ones in Ohio where we found him years ago. If you collect old toys or Amish hand mades he would be a great addition to your collection. :)
