Vintage Imperial Safari Typewriter Blue White Portable With Locking Case.

This listing is for the Vintage manual Imperial Safari typewriter, with locking case.

I do not profess to be any expert on manual typewriters, having said that I have done more than wipe it down to check it out.

Firstly the black/red ribbon is weak, I have been able to check the keys typing "ebay" onto white paper, both black and red lettering are visible.  It will probably need a new ribbon, unless you know how to reactivate the ink in the ribbon. .

All the keys respond individually and did not stick for me, some of the keys are aged discoloured.

The paper cylinder knob at either end feels smooth.

The carriage seems to move fine with the keys and dings. 

The typewriter has had a previous working life, having said that I consider it to be in a good condition.  Cosmetically it has evidence of use with scuffs and scratches to its casing etc.

Internally it is as expected, a bit dusty/greasy etc - see photos. 

  

The protective hard walled locking case has done its job over the years, it has loads of scuffs and marks...amazingly they key still locks the locking mechanism !, although I would refrain from using this too often, they don't look the best these keys and flimsy if i'm being honest.
