Super Rare late 1800s Quack Galvanic Skin Healing Sagendorph's Battery medallion
So, I guess this really isn't a battery. Very little is online about this old quack healing medicine but I guess it was patented in late 1800s and marketed as "an electro-therapeutic medical medallion, advertised as a generator of healing electric current in the wearer, produced by the reaction of the varying metals constituting the battery with the wearer's skin (as a galvanic response)"
It is about 1 1/4" in diameter. From the photos I found online, it appears to be missing one round disc where the chain connects... oh well, I guess it won't work anymore :-)
