RARE Sheaffer Targa 1020 Imperial Brass Fountain Pen, GT, 14K Nib, Box *Nr MINT*
Rare vintage pen in superb condition. I have listed it as near mint because there are some faint micro surface marks on the pen and the brass cases (common to any brass finish). Otherwise it is mint. This is the Classic full size version and was only produced from 1986 to 1996. It has a lacquered brass finish polished to a brilliant shine with gold plated trim. The fountain pen has a 14K solid gold nib and a perfect filler. Comes with brass cases for the pen and ink cartridges as well as an outer case.
Condition report:
Superb near mint cosmetic condition. It is lacquered brass highly polished with gold plated trim. The body and cap are unmarked apart from light surface micro scratches. No dings or dents. Perfect clean White dot on the clip. All Gold trim is in perfect condition. Stamped "Sheaffer USA Imperial Brass" on the cap top. Clip is a nice firm fit and properly aligned. It has a 14K solid gold inlaid nib in perfect condition. No size marked but it looks like a fine/medium to me, probably medium. Comes with a press bar filler also in perfect condition. Also accepts cartridges (4 supplied). Dip tested and writes nicely (see photo of writing sample). Supplied in its Sheaffer presentation box which is in near perfect condition and comes with brass cases for the pen itself and the 4 ink cartridges.
This is a particularly fine example in excellent condition of a very collectable and usable pen.
