This listing is for a truly unique 1963 Fender Stratocaster. If you are looking for an all original 1963 Stratocaster I would keep looking. The guitar has obviously been refinished and the fingerboard was modified to have block inlays and most of the parts have been changed. The good news is, the guitar is an amazing sounding guitar with a great 1963 Stratocaster neck and a cool refin. Please read on for the specifics details

This guitar was made in 1963. The whole guitar (body & neck) have been refinished. Thankfully the neck date is clearly visible and original. The decal is changed along with the tuners and an extra string tree was added. The neck was refinished & re-fretted in 1973 and there is a handwritten date showing when the work was done.

The body was fully refinished with a nice metallic red finish. Because of the refin there are no body dates but the body can be clearly verified by the QC tool marks in the neck pocket, nail holes, worm route and other ways a refinished body can be authenticated.

The neck plate with serial, strap buttons are original but all the parts are not original. The pickups are a matched set of Custom Shop '59 Stratocaster pickup with all new CTS pots, Mallory cap, CRL switch. The pickguard is not original and the bridge, saddles and tremolo block are newly ordered from Fender.

The guitar has been professionally set up and plays great with low and comfortable action. Like I said at the beginning if you are looking for an original collector piece, this is not for you. This is a great guitar with an original albeit modified neck and body. The neck profile feels great and the guitar is really fun to play.

Please look at the pictures and message with questions. The guitar comes with a non original hard shell case and will be expertly packed for safe shipping.

Thanks for looking,,
