Offered is a vintage Tang Dynasty style Chinese sancai glazed pottery imperial court lady figure. She is dressed in a flowing amber colored robe with green blotches and has her arms folded across her chest. Her black hair is tied in a high knot with a red flower and her form is lovely with extraordinary elegance and presence. Bright, clear-toned glazes enhance her attire with striking colors. This statue is a beautiful size for display standing approximately 15 3/4" tall by 5 1/2" wide by 5 1/4" deep. It came from a Palm Beach, CA estate and I estimate it dates to the mid-20th century. The base of the figure is open and sits on a piece of red felt.

The figure is in good estate condition. There is a small superficial thin surface contraction split in the unglazed bisque on the figure's neck which occurred when the pieced was fired in the kiln (can be best seen on photo #7). There is also some loss to the green ceramic handkerchief that the lady is clutching to her breast (highlighted with arrows in the last phot). The felt on the base is bit loose.

Thanks and please let me know if you have questions.
