This listing is for an Old Vintage 19th Century English Victorian Pottery 6" Tall Ceramic Pitcher Jug.  It was designed by Christopher Dresser for Samuel Lear of Hanley, England.  It has a bulbous squat body, pinched neck, and stepped handle.  I believe it was made around c. 1880.  The bottom is very dark and I cannot find any markings.  It has a wonderful streaking brown colored glossy glaze.  The same form, but just a little taller, can be seen on liveauctioneers sold listings.

It is in great condition with no large chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs.  2 small glaze flakes around top rim (photos 19 and 20).  A few tiny glaze flakes to corner of handle (photos 21 and 22).  Some scratches to body (photos 23 and 24).  No other issues.  Very clean and shiny!  Please view the photos carefully as they are my main description.  *(White spots in pictures are glare / lighting from photos and not actually on the item).

It is very fragile and will be securely packaged and double boxed.

It measures 6 1/16" (15.4 cm) tall to top of handle, 6" (15.2 cm) tall to rim, 4 5/8" (11.8 cm) at widest part of body, 2 5/16" (6 cm) across sides of top rim, and 2 15/16" (7.5 cm) at the base.
