Resin cockpit canopy rails set for Tornado GR1/4, IDS, F3, ECR sold as a pair ready to paint. This set is available for the Revell 1/32 kit and I will be looking at Revell 1/48 soon.

Uniquely modelled by a former Tornado pilot to provide an accurate representation of the inner canopy rails which are lacking on the Revell 1/32 kit.

NOTES

Unfortunately, the Revell 1/32 TV TABs are oversized to scale (especially in width) and therefore do not allow a sufficient gap to model the ECS ducting on the canopy next to them. For this reason, I have designed a 'canopy closed' option which has the ducting modified to fit the canopy past them without scraping any paintwork. The modification although visible, is negligible and does not detract from the rest of the detailing. It is possible to use this set with the canopy up, but the modification is more visible.

Because of this, there is a 'canopy open' option which has the complete ducting as normally seen.

Although the ducting doesn't fit over the set TV TABs, I suspect they will fit over any aftermarket cockpits available (including my trainer version).

The rear duct pipes that run vertically on each rail are not supposed to be attached to the canopy. With the rail correctly fitted, when the canopy is closed, they should align with the ducting on the rear cockpit bulkhead (as shown in one of the photos). Due to the shape of the canopy arch, I have opted to model the later rails with the ducting at the front ending above the the canopy jettison rocket motors and not going vertically up the front canopy arch.

The design of the TV TABs on the Revell 1/32 kit also precludes the active grab handles from being mounted in the correct place when the canopy is closed - so I have only included them as an option for the 'canopy open' set.

Each set is produced, prepared and quality checked before listing, so there will be times when they are not available - if this is the case, it will show as 'Out of Stock'.

Thanks for looking
