*Up for sale here is a nicely labeled pre pro cylindrical whiskey bottle from Boston, Massachusetts. It is in the quart size, and is hand blown, with the applied on cork top. Bottle is in a very rich honey amber color, and made in a three part mold. The label and bottle are in excellent condition, with some nice old fashioned graphics to it. Please see all the pictures, as they tell the best story. Bottle would date from the late 1880's to about 1895. The neck on this "medicinal whiskey" bottle, has some very nice crude twist marks to it.

*The original paper label reads (advertises) ~ "KEENE'S / ROCK MALT / Trade Mark / (Fancy S & T monogram) / WHISKEY / Highly recommended for / Coughs, Colds and all Pulmonary Troubles. / Sole Agents / SHORTELL & TIMMINS, / 166 State St., Boston, Mass." On the crude base there is a number "8", with a raised dot embossed. This very handsome looking example measures 11 1/4 inches tall, and 3 1/8 inches in diameter. You will be well pleased with this antique example from the state of Massachusetts. And is a wonderful piece of pre pro whiskey distilling bottling history. Would look great in any old back bar, or classic saloon set up.
