This fantastic lens has a well earned reputation for image quality with great sharpness and smooth, visually pleasing bokeh.
The 50mm focal length lends itself to portrait work but the lens also makes a great general purpose lens with the fast F/1.7 aperture enabling the user to use shallow depth of field to isolate subjects, an aspect that this lens excels at due to it's attractive rendering of out of focus parts of the image, known as "bokeh"
The fast aperture also allows for higher shutter speeds meaning the lens continues to be usable in light levels that would cause slower lenses to succumb to shake induced blurring.

The lens is a manual optic and hence focusing and aperture must be adjusted manually, but the camera will still provide automatic exposure when using AV mode! Sony mirrorless cameras have a built in manual focusing aid which allows you to magnify any area of the scene to easily make precise focus adjustments.
This lens comes with a removable Sony E mount adapter allowing it to be fitted to all Sony mirrorless cameras that use the Sony E mount aka NEX mount.
The lens is in very good working condition overall with just normal signs of use and not abuse! A few bits of dust/specks as with any used lens, but no impact on IQ. Fully tested on Canon and Sony cameras and delivering gorgeous looking images.
Both the focus and aperture mechanisms function correctly.
The lens comes supplied with an M42 to Sony FE adapter and front + rear caps.
