Pair of Chinese porcelain Foo lions carrying lamp stand or candle holders on their backs. The red (copper) decoration is particularly vibrant. Ming (1368-1644 AD) Dynasty, possibly made during the reign of the Emperor Hong Wu (1368-1398 AD). One foot has a chip repair in the undercoated "toe" area. Cracks, which originated in the kiln during firing, are visible on the undersides of both pieces. These cracks show a " rusty ' patination. Otherwise, the Foo Lions are in good condition.
