Lovely strong, well crafted Tray

Rare Antique Copper Tray from Ickleford, Herts. Stamped Olney and Newbury Ltd. Art Metal.

During the first half of the 20th century Ickleford, Herts was home to a small art metalwork centre set up by Walter Witter and his wife. Francis Olney and Tom Newbury were students at the centre, who went on to set up Olney and Newbury in 1923 as a small art metal business, producing high quality metal items, such as this tray in Ickleford.
