From early childhood Toulouse Lautrec was attracted by the circus. It was, in fact, through a friend of his family, Rene Princeteau, himself a painter, that he acquired this taste while still very young. Princeteau was a painter of horses and their riders, both men and women, and he exerted quite an influence on Lautrec's early education...
