Computer Upgrade King is the first point of contact for all warranty concerns on upgraded / custom computers. Upgraded / custom computers will have the manufacturer warranty, but will be provided by Computer Upgrade King. Upgraded / modified components will have a 3 year warranty through Computer Upgrade King. Returns for refund are only valid for 30 days from the purchase date. Returns for replacement are only valid if the item is reported defective within the first 30 days of purchase date or the item is returned in the exact same condition as shipped. For all other returns we will automatically process the returns as a repair.

Items returned will be denied and returned back to the sender if they are returned under any of the following conditions:

  • Any product which shows physical damage
  • Any product which is not purchased from Computer Upgrade King
  • Any product without a valid and readable serial number
  • Any product that does not have an RMA number written on the outside of the box
  • Non-refundable/repairable items such as opened software, license keys, etc

Computer Return Policy:

Customers must request an RMA number within 30 days of original purchase date. A prepaid UPS Ground shipping label will be issued for return in the U.S within 30 days of original purchase date, if they work with Computer Upgrade King technicians in diagnosing and attempting to resolve the problem(s). For international returns, customers are responsible to return items via EMS shipping and will be reimbursed for shipping costs once the item is received, if they also work with Computer Upgrade King technicians in diagnosing and attempting to resolve the problem(s).

Laptop Repair Policy

  • Return for Repair: 3 Years from Invoice Date*

To initiate a repair, please contact us via the eBay messaging system. Please see our Warranty Info section for full details regarding repairs.

*For all purchases made via eBay, customers who need repair services, within 45 days from the invoice date, will need to re-buy the repaired laptop on eBay again after it has been repaired. The original purchase will be refunded once the laptop needing repair is returned. After 45 days, repairs will be shipped once they are completed and customers will NOT need to re-buy the item.

Restocking Fee Policy

Items are not valid for a full refund and will be imposed a restocking fee if they are returned under the following conditions:

  • Missing or damaged packaging
  • Missing or damaged accessories
  • If items have any visible cosmetic damage or blemishes preventing from reselling for new or open-box price

Restocking fees will consist of the price difference of the item including degradation, cosmetic damages, and missing accessories and packaging. Computer Upgrade King reserves the right to charge a restocking fee if an item returned as defective is found non-defective, and if the item is returned with cosmetic damages, missing packaging or accessories.

Estimated Shipping & Handling Time

We use the handling time system to account for this and a variety of factors (i.e. testing for stability). Occasionally, items may be delayed a day due to a higher than usual amount of orders or insufficient time for testing. Please understand our primary concern is your satisfaction and that your item arrives to you as described in the listing.

Mail Forwarding

Computer Upgrade King does not comply with mail forwarding requests or requirements. Mail forwarding puts the customer at risk for damage during shipping (from the original mail forwarding location to them, which may be reflected on the customer as a restocking fee, should they wish to return the item. It is impossible to determine if the damage to the item was done through our carrier or the mail forwarding company, as a result we cannot claim insurance with our carrier on the package. If the situation should arise where the customer chooses to use mail forwarding, then it will be their responsibility to get the item from the mail forwarding location to them. We will not be responsible for any forms, taxes, payments, etc required by your mail forwarder and all such claims will automatically be denied. If the item is returned to us as a result, the customer will be refunded minus the original shipping and any return shipping that we may have to pay as a result.

Computer Upgrade King offers the following warranty and services on computers:

ALL VALID RETURNS MUST HAVE A RETURN MERCHANDISE AUTHORIZATION (RMA) NUMBER, OTHERWISE THEY WILL BE REFUSED AND RETURNED TO THE SENDER.

Warranty Coverage Policy

Computer Upgrade King warranty is not covered under any of the following conditions:

  • Non-upgraded or non-configured items which are fully covered under manufacturer warranty
  • Items which are not sold or provided by Computer Upgrade King
  • Items which show visible physical damage as a result of accidental or improper use

Domestic Warranty Policy

Computer Upgrade King Domestic Warranty Policy applies to all items shipped within the U.S. Warranty is valid for 3 years on all modified components. All domestic customers requiring warranty support will receive a prepaid UPS Ground shipping label and we will cover the return shipping. After the 1 year warranty with the manufacturer expires; the customer is subject to the labor, shipping, and cost of part replacement ONLY if our diagnostic team determines the fault lies with a manufacturer OEM component. If the fault lies with an upgraded component then we will cover all labor, shipping, and replacement part costs for up to 3 years from the original purchase date.

Prepaid shipping labels are offered if any one of the following conditions are met:

  • Proof of defect by taking video footage, screenshot, or photo (if applicable)
  • The customer allows Computer Upgrade King technicians to remote desktop into the defective computer in order to attempt repair and we successfully diagnose a hardware defect that cannot be repaired remotely
  • Customer reports a known defect for which we have previously found the computer model in question to be susceptible and unique details are provided by the customer to substantiate the problem
  • A listing error that advertised a feature lacking or performance enhancement missing

Manufacturer Warranty Policy

Unless stated otherwise, all items are new from the manufacturer. Per our policy of honoring the manufacturer warranty (make and model dependent) on OEM components, we can only honor the remainder of the manufacturer warranty. Although we sell items rather quickly, we cannot guarantee the full manufacturer warranty, on some units. Certain models can sit in our stock for a while and take up to a month to sell, as a result, if you were to purchase a computer with a standard 1 year manufacturer warranty, it may in fact have 11 months warranty. In addition, our suppliers may have the item in stock for additional time. However we have verified Lenovo, Intel (computers), MSI, ASUS, Gigabyte, HP, and Aorus, can have the warranty reset with the Computer Upgrade King invoice. Please contact Computer Upgrade King if you would like assistance with the warranty reset. International customers requiring a warranty reset, will need to contact Computer Upgrade King directly and not the manufacturer for getting the warranty reset to the invoice date.
