First, I picked this up at an estate sale, and I don't know just how old it is ? I don't see any cracks in the glass, but there are a lot of chips and staining There are two cracks on the brass cage. There is one on top and another on the first row across the center. You should be able to see all in the last few pictures.
I think some one used something to tap and loosen the cage at one time, bending and cracking it. The glass globe will not unscrew or just pop out. I didn't want to damage it. So that will be up to you. The cage is still very solid, and may be able to straighten out.
The cage is 11" tall and has about a 5" diameter. It is heavy and weighs very close to 10 pounds. There is a lot of patina.
You will have to be the judge.
