I know you heard it all before but; reluctant sale, due to moving house, with much smaller garden.

I spent 'loadsa' money on it last year, as it was basically a good, sound mower, just in need of some TLC,
to sort out the usual age/wear/tear type issues and to make it a really good mower again.

I renewed/refurbished/cleaned all of the below;
  • NEW FUEL LINES, CLIPS AND FITTINGS,
  • NEW FUEL FILTER,
  • CARB' CLEAN/FLUSH/SET-UP,
  • FUEL-TANK FLUSHED,
  • NEW AIR FILTER,
  • NEW SPARK PLUG
  • NEW STARTER SWITCH/KEY,
  • NEW STARTER MOTOR,  WITH UPRATED STARTER GEARS.
  • NEW STARTER SOLENOID,
  • NEW MAGNETO,
  • NEW BATTERY,
  • SOME WORN BELTS REPLACED
  • TYRE PUNCTCURE-SEALANT ADDED TO TYRES,
  • MOST OF THE OIL WAS CHANGED
K13s are BASICALLY great mowers, that last for ever, BUT, most of their cutting decks are rotted away on them, by now.
So, I also bought (£425!) and fitted a very rare 'like new' larger 39" cutting deck, which had very little use and just a few paint bubbles and scuffs etc. I stripped the few bubbled areas, sanded them smooth and applied a 'no-rust' primer, 2 coats Hammerite and 3 coats flexible Plasticote PVC paint, which avoids kicked-up stones, chipping deck paint.
The cutter bearings etc were exposed and oiled/greased and all 3 blades were sharpened.

The tyres are OK and hardly changed in 10 years we've had it - they looked like they needed renewing back then and will need doing sometime!

Seat base had been split/torn for ages, so start 2023, I got a replacement S/H seat with an undamaged base - so even if it gets wet, you just drain it off and wipe it dry - when seat bases are damaged, water drains/soaks into the internal foam and stays there, giving you a wet backside every (many!) time you forget about the damaged seat. It was one of those jobs that should never be put-off until whenever!

The grass-collector/garden sweeper is tatty and really needs sorting out and tidying-up, or it could be used to provide spare parts for refurbishing a better sweeper.
It still works and actually, still does quite a good job sweeping leaves from drives, but it is missing quite a lot of tines/bristles on its sweeper brush.

We've sold our house and moving into smaller place, so no BIG lawn to mow there and don't know if we will ever need it again.
