SHAFT FOR SHORT SPLIT SHAFT

1/4" split shaft for finely knurled (24-spline) US-Spec knobs.

250K are usually used on Strats

500K guitars are typically used on SGs, Flat Top Non Carved Top Les Pauls, PRSs, LP Jrs, Jazzmasters and many other guitar models, but can also be used on any guitar that requires a 500K split shaft potentiometer.

Pot values:

We specify these pots to be above the stated value and not below. Tolerances can result in significant -/+ fluctuations. Therefore, we decided to go a little above it so that the actual final value is closer to our range.

- 250K pots are rated at 275K, so they will likely have a resistance of 240K to 280K ohms

- 500K pots are rated at 550K, so they will likely have a resistance of 490K to 570K ohms

- 1 Meg pots are rated at 1 Meg, so they will likely read 900K to 1025K Ohms

Installation tips for buttons on split shaft

CTS split shaft pots are designed to accept USA Spec 24 spline knobs. Import guitars require new USA Spec knobs. We recommend that you squeeze the top of the shaft very lightly so that you do not damage the potentiometer when you push the knob by applying too much downward pressure.

Each CTS pot includes a flat washer, a lock washer and 1 hex mounting nut for custom height adjustment on a pickguard, a control plate or directly on the guitar top from the control cavity.
