Maker: The signature of the Rhode Island artist Daniel Read appears on the foot of this stylish and sophisticated glass vase. Read's works have been exhibited in New England museums and he has a dedicated base of followers of his unique approach to glass-making.

Age: The etched number 056282 appears on the vase's attached foot. Read is known for including the exact date of production on each piece along with the number of each piece produced that day. If this vase follows that practice, it was the 5th item produced on June 2, 1982, making it 40 years old. But that is not confirmed.

Design: The vase's red free form trumpet design highlighted with swirls would make an elegant statement in any décor. It would be beautiful in any setting but it is particularly striking when lit from behind, which brings out the richness of the colors and the grace of the swirl design.

Condition: The vase is in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, stains, fogging, water lines or repairs. There are a few tiny scratches on the base from shelf storage.

Size: It's 6 3/4 inches tall, 4 3/4 inches wide at its widest point, 4 inches wide at its narrowest point and 2 3/4 inches wide at the base. It weighs 11.3 ounces.
