This is a lifetime collection of documents, letters and photographs of Doctor Frederick Freud of Budapest, Hungary from the early 1900's until his death in the USA. He is not related to Sigmund Freud that I could find. The early documents are all in Hungarian though some have been translated. Includes birth certificates, high school report cards and documents relating to his service as a reserve Lieutenant in World War One. He became a well respected doctor and surgeon leading to being the Chief Surgeon and managing director of a large Sanatorium in Budapest. Most of his medical school records are there. After WW2 he immigrated to the USA where he continued to practice medicine. He brought with him a fair collection of old master style, mostly religious oil paintings. He lists the paintings and their values at the time and also there are reports where he tried to authenticate the paintings prior to auction sales. Seems like most were from the school of an old master rather than by the old master's hand. Many handwritten letters most all in Hungarian. Some envelopes with stamps from the US and Hungary that are older. Interesting collection of a post WW2 immigrant. The documents weigh 4 pounds 8 ounces.
