This listing is for one uncut proof sheet of a complete deck of cards. The cards are the British Airways "History of Flight" playing cards sold on British Airways flights in the 1980s and 1990s. These cards were designed by Toyforce and are no longer in production. Each playing card features a watercolour of a plane with the name printed underneath. There is also an "index card" which lists all the planes, the year introduced, passenger capacity and cruising speed.
A beautiful gift for any aeronautical enthusiast. There are only 11 sheets in existence; I can write a guarantee to that effect with a Toyforce stamp as the director of the company (no longer trading) was my father and the sheets passed to his beneficiaries. We have kept one sheet framed. The sheets were the original proofs of the cards sent to the British Airways Marketing team for final sign off before production rolled on the packs of cards which were sold in the 100's of thousands on board flights.
Framed sheets have been professionally mounted on a back-board with thin tape in each corner to preserve the sheet and covered with Art Glass which appears almost invisible; this glass protects the sheet from light damage and gives the clearest display of the planes.
Unframed sheets will be sent by Royal Mail tracked in a tube.
Framed sheets cannot be sent as contain breakable glass and must be collected in person from Cranleigh, Surrey, UK.
Three additional slightly damaged sheets exist if you would prefer a less expensive gift - they have some feathering around one edge. Please message me on eBay and I can send photos and list separately if you would be interested in making an offer for one of these.
