Kumano's brush making has been passed down from generation to generation since the Edo period. Currently, there are 1,500 "brush makers" in Kumano. Among them, there are 13 "traditional craftsmen" who have more than 12 years of experience in brush making and are recognized as masters of brush making among craftsmen with excellent skills and experience. The brushes made by our traditional craftsmen are well-received by experts.
Each brush made by a traditional craftsman is engraved with his name, which shows the level of responsibility and confidence he has in his work. They are ideal for those for whom an ordinary brush is not enough, for those who are particular about the individuality of their brushes, and for those who want to give a prestigious gift.
