Garcia Fans !!!  This 1995 release is not only a very-impressively creative musical release - but it is also quite the story !  So, here's how it goes ...  Take yourself back to the 1994 Grateful Dead Tour - and specifically to the RFK Shows on July 16th & 17th in Washington, D.C..  So, Jerry is in D.C. on this 2-night RFK stand - and has some extra time to spare while in the area.  His wife Deborah was involved with the Greenpeace cause - and was a fond supporter.  So while in D.C. ... Jerry and Deborah visit the Greenpeace office in D.C. - and during this brief time, Jerry is introduced to Sanjay Mishra who was working with Greenpeace.  As a Fan of the Grateful Dead & Garcia's Music - Sanjay decided against a shy approach - and gave Jerry a copy of his latest CD after a conversation ensued about music.  So Sanjay thought that was it at that point - and was still very excited to have met Jerry and share his own creative music with him by giving him his latest Album.  Well, thankfully for us all - that wasn't it, at all.  After the '94 Grateful Dead Tour completed - Jerry contacted Sanjay from back home in Marin and asked Sanjay if he might be interested in getting together in the studio so Jerry could contribute guitar music to his upcoming studio project.  Naturally, Sanjay accepted this once in a lifetime opportunity - and within just weeks ... they were in Club Front in San Rafael laying down studio tracks for this new studio project - we all now well know as " Blue Incantation ".  This is a peaceful & relaxing yet still intense at times 10-Track release that hit the scene way back in 1995.  And as it turned out ... this would also be the very last & final studio work that was released by Jerry - in the form of a complete pro-released Album ( CD ).  He plays on Three ( 3 ) Tracks ! - and his plying is completely thoughtful, passionate & brilliant.  It is hard to select a specific " Music-Category " on this one - and that as we all know is truly the essential sign of a truly creative & unique project.  This music touches on the emotional - as well as the technical.  Sanjay can flat-out play - and the compositions are brilliant not only in the music itself ... but also in the seamless, and tight technical deliveries.  This is much like an Eastern ( Indian ) meets Western collaboration that exemplifies the power of fret board-based guitar work & percussion.  This one touches on Jazz techniques - but mainly only because of it's unique creativity - more Eastern, for certain.  But the fact is - these are ' two ' excellent guitar Masters ! - indulging in " Feel " Music that comes from the heart in the improvisational style.  Sanjay's tool of choice is an acoustic / electric Godine - and Jerry's is Rosebud ( I believe that's what my ear tells me ? ).  The use of MIDI ( Multi-Digital Interface ) is thick in the tracks they play together - and the tones are simply fantastic !  This is an excellent recording - and there are no lyrics sung, or spoken.  However, this is indeed one of those fine studio occasions where the music-itself does all of the talking.  I can almost assure you - that if you have still not heard this release ... it is very-likely that you will choose to keep this one in your cherished Music Collection for time to come.  It's a wonderful dream-come-true story ! - and even goes further in the " Grateful Dead " World - because as we all know ... nobody had a keen ear for sheer ' Talent ' like Jerry Garcia always did.  Enjoy this small - yet ' Massive ! ' 1995 Music Treasure !!! ... Enjoy !!!!!
