I cleaned this by running vinegar and water through it....then 4 more cycles with just water. I would probably do a few more cycles with water to be sure all the sediments are gone if I were you. i've cleaned it to the best of my abilities but the coffee oil on the metal part of the drip area is very tedious and would not stay clean long because coffee is quite oily and the oil residue would be right back there soon.
