This is a very nice German WW1 SG 98/05 Double Maker marked bayonet. Rather scarce. 14 1/2 inch long blade is very nice. Wood grips are nice as well. Notice that the "I" in BIELEFELD seems to be missing. It is there but extremely faint. Perhaps a broken die? Also notice that the top of blade spine has just a crowned C inspection mark. No date or crowned letter indicating German state, etc. A close up inspection shows there never was one. Rest of steel is also nice just showing typical patina for a bayonet this old. Steel scabbard shows much finish wear and several small dimples to body. Can't imagine what caused those. A similar bayonet (same double maker) just sold here on ebay for $175.00 U.S. dollars and that bayonet was not as near nice as this one. And only had the Henckles logo not both name and logo like this one. Just a great example of a rather scarce double marked bayonet. U.S. SHIPPING ONLY. PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING AS ALL SALES ARE FINAL. THANK YOU.
