In trying to test this camera the cover over the battery compartment broke. The plastic hinge on the battery cover broke.

As far as we know the camera may work fine if you can get the battery compartment to hold the batteries. 

There is a metal contact plate on the lid so tape over the batteries won't work. Use your imagination on how to fix it.
