Offering this RARE booklet dated 1914 -- it's a catalog of baby carriages and strollers of all kinds -- 48 pages in all.

On the front is an actual photograph of a toddler child, trimmed to an oval shape and glued into place -- never seen a catalog with that kind of care applied to make it irresistable to pick up and open.  This type of expensive production for a catalog was very unusual, and spoke to the quality of the company's products and the image they wanted to project to the market.

The company was located in Toledo, Ohio and had showrooms in Chicago, New York City and San Francisco.  Baby carriages and toddler devices such as strollers and reclining strollers were some of its earliest products.

According to information guru Harry Rinker, "The Toledo Metal Wheel Company was incorporated in 1887. In 1902, Frank E. Southard was President and General Manager. In 1925, the American National Company was created. It was a holding company for Toledo Metal Wheel, National Wheel, and American Wheel. Glendon Wheel became a subsidiary in 1927."  If you collect pedal cars or other metal toys made by one of these companies, you may be already familiar with this company.  This is a great piece of memorabilia from the company's early days.

Condition:  Excellent.  String-bound, heavy paper blue cover and end papers, with applied photograph on cover, and raised embossed shadow lettering in title.
