This exceptional and rare antique Victorian English cast sterling silver condiment set consists of a mustard pot, a pepper pot and a salt.
The mustard and pepper pots have been realistically modelled in the form of pigs, and the salt is in the form of a trough.
The pepper and mustard pots are each ornamented with details reproducing the pig's hide and anatomical features.
The fine mustard pot is fitted the original hallmarked flush hinged cover and retains the original gilding to the interior; the flush hinge and gilding indicates the high quality of the piece.
The pig pepper is fitted with a push fit head, incorporating an array of pierced 'pepper' holes to the upper portion.
The rectangular salt incorporates tooled decoration, replicating the wooden plank construction.
The exceptional mustard pot retains the original hallmarked cast sterling silver mustard spoon, accented with a coiled terminal representing the pig's tail.
The salt is provided with an impressive spoon modelled in the form of a spade; this London silver spoon will have been crafted for and provided with this service, however bears the maker's mark for Wakely & Wheeler (James Wakely & Frank Clarke Wheeler) and the date letter for 1894 (T).

The cast decoration is all very sharp.
Full hallmarks to the surface of underside of each pig, sleeve of the pepper cover, surface of the trough and stem of each spoon are all clear in keeping with age and location.
