I was advised many years ago that the style or use of this sword was as a Naganata,or pike head. The tang has been shortened and the blade used as a short sword or Wakizashi. I was also advised that the signature is of Suki Sada of Osafune Province and would date to between 1560 and 1580.  The blade length from tip to tsuba is 22inches, and the full length is 32.5inches. I am now downsizing my collection due to advancing years and this sword is one of two which I am selling. The second sword will be listed at a later date. The buyer will have to rely on their own knowledge of Japanese blades as I am not an expert. If other pictures are required, please ask. It can be sent by Australia Post standard parcel post in a mailing tube with tracking and insured to $100.00 with Australia Post, unless a higher amount is arranged prior to payment.
