Very respectable companion set with andirons.in for polishing at the moment,as such will publish pictures Wednesday.with size details etc.

Was let down by metal shop,so attacked the job myself.

Tough job,worth it though,the companion set has come up absolutely lovely,I have given the irons two coats of boiled linseed oil,and have given them a good roasting in my oven,prior to final polish.Should,I think need a rub with a soft cloth every once in a while,

Belonged to my father,who was French,passed to him by his father,we guessed they were manufactured between 1840 and 1860.

Havnt had time to paint the iron sections of the andirons,but will attempt to do so,should I find the time,will post measurements tomorrow.
