Please take time to study the accompanying photographs as they form part of the description. You can zoom in and see in very clear detail the item and examine it. Please allow for differences in colour reproduction on different media. Also personal interpretation of colours should be taken into account, I try to describe the colour visually and using a colour wheel to compare the colour, usually the photographs will confirm my description. But bear in mind one persons off white is another persons cream or white.

As they say a picture paints a thousand words.

Unfortunately due to rising postal costs I can no longer post internationally as in most cases the postage costs much more than the actual garment.

As well as the photographs please take note of the measurements in the description section, i.e. Pit to Pit and shoulder to hem. I measure these in inches and include them along with the UK size so that you can be sure the item is going to fit you. As most of you will already know a size 14 in a designer dress is more like a size 12 or even a size 10 depending on the make. So, going by the dress size alone can sometimes mean if you are normally a dress size 14 a particular item may not fit you even though the label states it is a 14.

I guarantee that I examine all of my items with a fine tooth combe, before photographing and listing, and would not list anything that was damaged, stained or imperfect in anyway, unless it is a minor fault and is too good to throw away or donate to charity. But I am only human and sometimes I can make a mistake. Obviously, any defects will be photographed and described but 99% of my items are in very good condition with no faults or defects. In fact, if I miss something whilst doing my inspection my camera will and does pick up the minutest scuff, mark, hair or imperfection that is not always visible to the naked eye. The very fact that unless listed as BNWT (Brand New With Tags) my garments are pre-owned and although in very good condition and wearable without anyone knowing they are pre-owned and pre-worn I cannot guarantee that they are in exactly the same condition as they left the shop. I should point out and as many people will have noticed sometimes garments for sale in shops sometimes appear “shop rail tired” and in the past I have not purchased these on principle.

Rest assured that if you do wish to return it because it isn’t your colour, it doesn’t fit or it’s not what you expected I will gladly accept it back and issue you with a full refund of the final bid price and postage cost on the understanding that you pay return postage and it is in the same condition as it was shipped so that it can be relisted.

Please bear in mind that if you use the Argos Click & Collect process. Argos do, and will return the parcel if you do not collect it within 7 days.

You can return it either by second class standard or a cheaper alternative if you can find one. Please bear in mind that it has cost me the outward shipping and packaging which I cannot claim back, so for the buyer to pay the return postage is, I think you will understand only reasonable.

I would also like to add and reassure people that I do not make any profit whatsoever out of the postage and packaging. In fact, it actually costs me more than the £3.99 I charge to post to successful bidders. I now post Royal Mail second class “signed for” as first class, although very quick makes the postage seem excessive. Also, being “signed for” means you are able to track it and theres a lot less chance of it going missing. By the same token I am able to track its progress and ensure you have actually received it. This gives us both added security and peace of mind. It is almost impossible to squeeze a dress or any other garment barring a thin tee shirt or light top into a package which passes the Royal Mail’s “Large Letter” template measurements, therefore most dresses, jackets, trousers etc fall into the “Small Parcel” category because of their size and also if it weighs over 750g.

I take pride in making sure the garment is well packaged and protected so that you receive it in a wearable condition, uncrumpled and not damaged during its journey through the postal system. To that end each garment is wrapped with acid free tissue paper and put in a large good quality plastic garment bag before going into a purpose bought poly mailer envelope. I have now swapped to eco-friendly and recyclable packaging which you will find is just as strong and secure as the poly mailers  I used before but much better for the environment. These poly envelopes are 100% recyclable and can be recycled at local carrier bag stations. The tissue paper is also eco-friendly and is biodegradable, but you can either reuse it, recycle it or even compost it. Once I have used up the plastic garment cover hanging bags, which I don’t know if they are or not eco-friendly I will be purchasing biodegradable bags. But these bags can be used to store your garments in and can then be recycled again at local carrier bag stations as some authorities do not accept plastic bags (yet). For small items (i.e. T-shirts & tops) I am using carboard pizza style mailing boxes which are plastic free and made from 100% recyclable biodegradable paperboard certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and where printed with eco-friendly vegetable and water-based inks.

I will and do happily combine postage, so if you are interested in more than one item let me know and I will combine the postage and change the invoice accordingly.

Regarding postage I have noticed recently that bizarrely items I have posted to the Highlands of Scotland have been received by midday the next day, whilst ones posted at the same time and day to relatively local destinations have taken a further day to reach their destination. I realise that parcels traveling long distances probably go by aeroplane and “local” i.e England have to rely on the road or rail system and our Postal delivery people (Postmen, just trying to be PC there!).

Also as the garments are sent signed for, if you are out the Postman/woman should leave a “while you were out” card for you to arrange re-delivery at a time convenient to you or for collection in person from your local delivery office. Alarmingly now I have been told a few times that no card has been left meaning the recipient doesn’t know that a parcel is waiting for them and unfortunately the onus is on the recipient to contact the delivery office. If the delivery office has had no contact from you after 18 days they return the parcel back to the sender. I try to keep an eye on whether items have been delivered and signed for, but there is only so much I can do I’m afraid barring arranging delivery for you. Also, I apologise in advance if the Post Office is not providing the service they promise and charge for. So if your item has not arrived after a week please check the Royal Mail’s tracking website to see the status of the parcel, alternatively please contact me and let me know it hasn’t arrived. If I’ve dispatched it and sent you the tracking number it is on its way and should be no longer than 3 working days away, please don’t leave it for weeks hoping it will turn up as obviously something is amiss.

Lastly, I will leave feedback for every purchase. Return feedback is not compulsory but it does let me know you have received the item and are happy with it.

Happy bidding and thank you for looking.

Please note only the garment in the item description is for sale. The items pictured in the background of any photograph are not included in the auction and you are only bidding on the one item of clothing.

Please also note that any white “splodges” that may appear in some of the photographs are not marks on the garment but our friendly resident orbs, and or cheeky ghosts!Plus the strange light effect is the sun shining through my window
