What is the difference between the Standard Duty & Special Duty Jaws
The big different in the two jaws is strength. That why we make 2 different styles.
-
The Standard duty jaws are design for engine that have the gears on the
outside of the case. they typical have a greater amount of space
between the back of the wheel & the motor case. Most older Lionel
& AF would use this Jaw. The only excision is Marx's engines. They
need the Special duty jaws.
- The Special duty jaws are weaker in
design because they where design to fit behind wheels that are much
tighter to the case. Most time the drive gears are inside the motor
case.
