African helmet mask from the Kuba people in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is made of wood and raffia, and decorated with white and blue glass beads on the face and cowrie shells on the headdress, and is covered with geometric designs made with natural kaolin and charcoal pigments. Each of these masks is handmade and truly one of a kind.

Estimated to be from the second half of the 20th century, it’s in overall good condition: aged, with some signs of wear. There are no missing beads or shells, and no tears in the fabric.. This is truly a beautiful piece that will need a home that will honor and preserve its history and heritage.  I have researched this to the best of my ability but can not guarantee any of the information. Please see all photos for full descripton and condition of mask. Thanks for looking dyzzylyzzydecor.
