Single paged indentured property deed covenant between the parties relating to various agreements relating to lands and estates in the counties of Lincoln and Cambridge, to the former estates of Sir Clement Trafford.

The document is made on 8 April 1789, during the reign of George the third.

The agreement is between John Clement Ruding of the city of London, cofactor of the first part, Isabel Bouillon, late of Stoke ferry in the county of Norfolk, spinster of the second part, Thomas Williamson of Wisbech Saint Marys, in the Isle of Ely in the county of Cambridge, Grazier of the third part, William Marshall of Severington Parson Grove in the Isle of Ely and county of Cambridge, Grazier, of the fourth part, Robert Crofs of Saint Giles in the Isle of Ely and county of Cambridge, Grazier, Charles Littlewood, of the same place, Grazier, Timothy Hall of the same place, Grazier, James Holtham, of the same place, Grazier, John Smith, of the same place, shopkeeper, James Redding of Wisbech Saint Peters in the Isle of Ely and county of Cambridge, wheelwright, William Johnson of Tidd Saint Mary’s in the county of Lincoln, Grazier, Thomas Hotchkin of Tidd Saint Giles, blacksmith, Joseph Bagworth, of the same place, Carpenter, Philip Griffin of Tidd Saint Marys, Grazier, and George Griffin, of the same place, Grazier of the fifth part.

The document refers to the deeds evidenced and writing mentioned in the several accounts written here under relating to the title to diverse lands and tenants belonging to John Clement Ruding and Isobel Bouillon, The retain lands, tenements and hereditaments belonging to them, respectively, late the estate of Sir Clement Trafford. The document continues with a series of schedules dating back to 30 May 1696. These are listed in the left-hand margin of the document.

The bottom margin contains the signature and seal of John Clement Ruding. The upper left margin contains a blind blue duty stamp for one shilling and six pence.

The document appears to be on vellum. The document is in reasonable condition for its age with obvious fold lines, and browning. Wear in the fold lines, particularly where they meet. No tears. Some discolouration wrinkling. Please see photos.
