Dead Heads ! - Duck Heads ! - and Santana Fans ! too ... as right here is one Rare ! - Awesome !! & Historic !!! piece of Grateful Dead & University of Oregon Ducks Rock & Roll !!! Memorabilia.  One Vintage-Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead / Santana Ticket Stub for the June 25, 1978 ( 6/25/1978 ) Concert inside Mighty Autzen Stadium - the Very-Proud Home of The Fighting Ducks !!!  Built in 1966 & 1967 - headed by Thomas E. Autzen ... Autzen Stadium opened on September 23, 1967, and from then on - was & is the Proud-Home of The University Of Oregon Ducks Football Team ... best known as The Fighting Ducks ! and/or - The Quack Attack ! too ... depending on which Fan you ask.  However ! even-though Autzen was " Fully-Operational " ( to use proper Star Wars ! terminology ) in the Fall of 1967 ... it still did not behold the vital duty of featuring the Good Ol' Grateful Dead !?!!! until ... This-Show ! on June 25, 1978 !!!  As during-that-time, ' Eugene-wise ' ... the Band played in 1968 inside the EMU ( U of O ) Ballroom ( Wow ! ) ... 1969, 1978 ( January ) at McArthur Court ( aka. Mac Court - or, " The Pit " ! ) ... and even once too in 1971 at the one & only Lane Community College ( L.C.C. ! ).  So ... not including the 1972 Oregon County Fair Show ( due west ... in ' Veneta ' ) --- there were only Four ( 4 ) Grateful Dead Shows ever in Eugene, Oregon - from the Band's start in 1965 until This! 6/25/1978 " Outdoor " Stadium Show ... right inside Mighty Autzen Stadium !  The Band came to play next in Eugene at MacCourt in 1981, and Rocked ! the City Of Eugene Hult Center in 1983 & 1984 ... but did not return to Autzen Stadium until 1987 - with Bob Dylan ! - for a Massive " Dylan & The Dead " Show !!!  The Band played Autzen in 1988 & 1990 - then got ' banned ', most unfortunately ... until Jerry Garcia politely ' asked ' U of O President Dan Williams in Hawaii ! to ... let the Dead Back ! to Duck U.!!! --- while Dan asked for a photo & autograph ... and said Yes ! ... hence Grateful-Duck ! Shows once again at Mighty Autzen !! - in both ! 1993 & 1994 in Magical ! multi-night fashion.  Point being ... this here Grateful Dead / Santana ( with Eddie Money - The Outlaws - and even Eugene Merry Prankster Ken Babbs ! ( on Drums > Space ! ) ) ... was the Very-First Ever ! Grateful Dead Autzen Stadium Show - and it was also the Very-First " Outdoor " Grateful Dead Show on the University Of Oregon Campus !  So ... Yes ! - you know, a little-less ' smokey ' ... for lack of a better way to put it -- open-air !  Ha !!  But ... speaking of " Smoke " - just check-out the Grateful Dead set list of this 6/25/1978 Show, featured below . . . with Promised Land ! to open - TLEO !! - Uncle > River - Candyman ( MXR Phase-100 !! ) - Passenger !!! ( Huge! ) - Peggy-O - with a kicker of a Minglewood Blues ! to close Set I.  And, as for Set II ???  Whoa !!!!!  Samson ! ( as yes ... it-was indeed a Sunday ! Eugene Sermon ) - Devil - Estimated > Eyes !! --- and then, ' Strangely ' the part that this Show really ended-up being most famous for ( I mean imagine that ?! ) .. the Drums > Space !!!!!!!!! - in Eugene, and with Merry Prankster & Eugenian Ken Babbs joining in for the Drums > Space Fun !!! .... and Holy " Percussive " & " Distortion-Fueled " Grateful Dead !!!? - does this ever get out of hand, as you really-really do Need ! to hear the ' Tapes ' !  ;-))  And, then out of Space ... NFA > GDTRFB > Around & Around !  With a Good Ol' U.S. Blues ! Encore for the West Coast - Oregon - Eugene - and Grateful Ducks !
