Maker: While no maker's mark appears on this set of 3 beautiful dinner plates, its decorative style and the quality of the china point to the early part of the 19th century, and to an origin in England.

That said, the absence of a mark means the place and date of origin remain unknown.

Design: The lovely pattern features a rich dark pink band with finely painted and delicate polychrome flowers in a style that is typical of early 19th century dinnerware. Swags of white scrollwork follow the scalloped edge and the plates are ornately trimmed in gold.

The hand-written pattern number 791 is on the back of two plates. Two unclear impressed letters or numbers also appear. They might be the letter G or the number 6, but that is open to interpretation.

Size: The plates are 9 1/2 inches wide and together weigh 3 pounds 1 ounce.

Condition: They are numbered in the photos. There are no marks, nicks, cracks, stains, discoloration, crazing or repairs. Plate 1 has a chip on the edge - it's shown in the photos - and Plate 3 has two sections of wear to the design. All 3 plates have light wear to the gold edges.

Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
