Triumph TR250 1968 LHD

American spec Triumph TR5

This is a ‘survivor’ car. It is not a restored show queen.

It has had two owners in the states, then was imported into this country in 2022.

I bought it off the importer, registered it and have had lots of work done to it.

It was unused many years in the states having been parked up.

It is original and unrestored, it has had work over the years as you would expect for its

56 years, and quite a few of invoices for work in the states are present.

Importantly it is very solid and has not had floor pans, chassis welding or anything like that in the past – solid and original.

Paintwork is old and it has had paintwork in the past but presents fairly well. Strangely the top of the N/S/R wing is noticeably a different shade of primrose. There are chips, imperfections etc everywhere -  but overall presentable.

Interior is clean and tidy and original, hood is good, and has tonneau cover.

It has had lots of mechanical recommissioning work done by Sixteen80 in Knaresborough – invoices to prove – see pics.

Main works:

Rebuilt gearbox and new clutch.

4 New Blockley tyres – I had redbands put in by Mr.Whitewall to keep it looking US spec.

New stainless Exhaust

All brakes rebuilt as required.

Suspension all gone through and new bushes as required.

Engine serviced, oil, filter (has spin on conversion) plugs, leads, cap etc

All new hoses, water, fuel, water pump, antifreeze

Petrol tank cleaned out, sender checked

Diff oil changed

It has had numerous other jobs I’m sure – but they are the main items.

It will need using and as all old cars pressed into service I’m sure other jobs will need doing – but that’s all part of classic car ownership.

Very rare in unrestored original condition, a true ‘survivor’ car.

Reluctantly selling due to storage issues and overspend on building extension works!
