Over 100 Years Old Carved Soap Stone Kwan Yin figurines.
Height of Kwan Yin is about 13.75 x 2" in depth at the body. And 5.5" width x 3.5" depth at the base.
The statue was brought to the Antiques Roadshow about 15 years ago and identified as antique Chinese soapstone and is over 100 years old.
The story is my friends great-grandfather was a civil engineer in Chicago in the early 1900s. He was friends with a captain of an import sailing vessel that imported artifacts from China, and was given the figurines.
The overall condition is good. Kwan Yin figurine, on the base, has two pins and one is missing. The one pin that anchor the figurine onto the base, holds the figurine sturdy onto the base.
