Offered for sale is this excellent commemorative £5 Banknote issued in 2005 to celebrate the career of the legendary Golden Bear.

The note is completely crisp and has never been in public circulation (from my own collection .. I used to work for RBS)

I have no hesitation in describing this note as 'UNCIRCULATED' (see the definition below taken from the Banknote Yearbook).

The obverse of the note shows Lord Ilay who was the first governor of RBS and also has a 'Golden Bear' with the name Nicklaus underneath. The reverse shows Jack holding the Open Championship Trophy (The famous Claret Jug) alongside an image of the R&A clubhouse at St. Andrews and details of the course scorecard.

The not will be dispatched in a plastic pocket inside a card backed envelope and sent by Royal Mail first class postage (included in the price)

UNCIRCULATED: - A perfectly preserved note never mishandled by the issuing authority, a bank teller, the public or a collector. Paper is clean and firm without discoloration. Corners are sharp and square without any evidence of rounding (Rounded corners are often a sign of a cleaned or ‘doctored note)
