Occasional Reflections, Offered Principally for the use of Schools. By George Dillwyn and printed in Burlington, New Jersey by David Allison. 1815, 206 pp, 7.25” x 4.75”, 8vo, full leather hardcover.

In good condition, with superficial rubbing and wear to exterior. Hinges remain in good condition and text block remains bound well. Light markings and marginalia at front, including inscriptions, stampings, and a bookplate to the front pastedown. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing.

A scarce piece by Quaker minister George Dillwyn (1738-1820). Ex-library from the Radnor Meeting of Friends and the Valley Friends’ Meeting. One inscription at front is a signature by an Elijah Waring. There is a Welsh Quaker and writer by this name (1787-1857), but it is unlikely that this book would have made it overseas considering its local provenance.
