This is a vintage minaudière designed in 1987 by Judith Leiber.
 A book piece, a similar bag is prominently displayed on page 127 of 'The Artful handbag' by Enid Nemy.
A jewelled clasp with a large crawling caterpillar in front embellished with crystals and hand polished gems - garnets, carnelian, amethyst, emerald, tiger eye, black onyx for the eyes and a large mabe pearl on top.
