A large, two paged indentured lease deed agreement for number 106 Leadenhall Street, Middlesex, London.

The document is dated 11 February 1859, and is made between John Tonkin Young of Mary at Hill, in the city of London, builder of the one part, and John Thomas Morton, of number, 104 Leadenhall Street in the city of London, merchant of the other.

The property is described as a messuage or tenement situated and being number 106 on the north side of Leadenhall Street in the parish of Saint Andrew Undershaft in the City of London, lately erected on the site of a messuage lately known or distinguished by the number 105, but which was formally known or distinguished by the number 106 and afterwards by the numbers, 105 and 106, and since the year 1851, has been known or distinguished by the number 105, abutting on a messuage or tenement there in the possession of John Morton, on the east and north side, thereof, and on a messuage and warehouse, belonging to the east India company, on the west part thereof and on the ground plan of which messuage or tenement intended to be here by demised is drawn in the margin of these presents.

The term of the lease is for 57 years at a yearly rent of £270.

The left side of the second page shows a plan of the property in pink.

The upper left margin contains two duty stamps for a total of £12.

The front page contains the signatures of young and Morton, and the upper left margin contains a further duty stamp for 10 shillings.


Document measures approximately 28” x 23“.


The document Appears to be on vellum and appears to be in good condition for its age with obvious fold lines, and some browning. No tears. Please see photos.
