This 1904 Edition of Morse's Japanese Homes belonged to a young woman who had already traveled to Japan (whose postcard is included as ephemera). She went at the turn of the century to mark her graduation from what is now Western Michigan University.

The Arts and Crafts movement had "rediscovered" Morse's 1885 work and the Japanese esthetic was informing the design sensibilities of era. (Please look at the font style on the cover and the spine.)

This book has fabulous and abundant illustrations, and is art, artifact, and architecture all in one.

The item will be shipped USPS media mail within one business day of payment.

Thank you for viewing.
