The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Baltimore Colts 16 - 13 in Super Bowl V 5, but Dallas Linebacker Chuck Howley and future Hall of Fame member - won the MPV designation. 

The “Blooper” Bowl is considered the worst played Super Bowl Championship game ever with many turnovers, penalties, and miscues 

by the teams AND referees. Defensive Linebacker Chuck Howley was the first

non-Quarterback chosen and is the first and only MVP to win the MVP award from the losing team.

Howley intercepted two passes and forced a fumble.
