Set of 5 "Asteroid" Art Glass Fruit Bowls by J. S. Drost

Set of five art glass bowls suitable for fruit, dessert, or display. 

The name "Asteroid" indicates the inspiration for the design, although I think the bowls also resemble the texture of a berry. (A strawberry and raspberry hybrid, maybe?)

The Corning Museum of Glass in New York holds one of these bowls in their collection. They describe it as "pressed and tooled" glass:

"Bowl, 'Asteroid'. Colorless non-lead glass; pressed, tooled. Hemispherical bowl with design of raised "hobs" in various sizes on lower surface."
