J.S. Perry offset lithograph, signed and numbered, in great condition. The print is matted and framed in a lightweight, golden-toned metal frame since purchase in 1986 or 1987. Original and only owner, the print was purchased directly from the artist at an arts and crafts show in Monterey or Capitola, California. This is an earlier work from the artist, marked in the bottom right corner with "C (the copyright symbol) 1982". Numbered, and signed by the artist, this print is part of a very limited printing of 200 copies, and is copy 48 of 200. J.S. Perry later tended to make copies in lots of 800, so this also defines this print as an earlier work of the artist.
A beautiful, wistful, poignant, positive and hopeful portrait of a woman in her nightgown greeting the morning at her window with 2 contented cats bathing in the early sunlight at 7 AM as her red locks seem to blow softly in a gentle morning breeze: a masterful play of colors, light, and shadows, all done in distinct, muted tones. Print is on paper, most likely Vicksburg paper. Never displayed in our near sunlight, this is as vibrant and beautiful as the day it was purchased. Outstanding offset litho print from a truly outstanding artist.
Print is 9.5" high, 8" wide. Frame is 14.5" high, 11.5" wide, 1" deep.
